Ao No Exorcist
Blue Exorcist (Japanese: 青の祓魔師, Hepburn: Ao no Ekusoshisuto) is a popular supernatural action manga series written and illustrated by Kazue Kato. Serialized in Jump SQ since 2009, it has become a staple of modern shonen for its stylish art, gothic atmosphere, and its heartfelt exploration of brotherhood and identity.
The story centers on Rin Okumura, a teenager who appears to be an ordinary, albeit somewhat rowdy, high schooler—until he discovers he is actually the son of Satan, the ruler of the demon world, Gehenna. After his foster father, the powerful Exorcist Shiro Fujimoto, dies protecting him from Satan's attempt to bring him home, Rin makes a defiant choice: instead of joining his biological father, he decides to become an Exorcist to "beat the hell out of Satan." Enrolling in the prestigious True Cross Academy, Rin must hide his blue flames and demonic heritage while training alongside his studious twin brother, Yukio, and a colorful cast of classmates to defend the human world, Assiah, from the encroaching shadows of Gehenna.
