Demon Slayer
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba (Japanese: 鬼滅の刃, Hepburn: Kimetsu no Yaiba) is a global phenomenon and one of the best-selling manga series of all time. Created by Koyoharu Gotouge and serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump from 2016 to 2020, it revitalized the "historical fantasy" genre with its breathtaking art, emotional sincerity, and traditional Japanese aesthetics.
The story is set in Taisho-era Japan and follows Tanjiro Kamado, a kind-hearted boy who returns home to find his family slaughtered by a demon. The only survivor is his younger sister, Nezuko, who has been transformed into a demon herself. Despite her change, Nezuko retains her human emotions and protects her brother. Tanjiro joins the Demon Slayer Corps, an ancient organization dedicated to hunting these monsters, with one goal: to find a cure for Nezuko and kill the Demon Progenitor, Muzan Kibutsuji.
