Kuroko's Basketball (Japanese: 黒子のバスケ, Hepburn: Kuroko no Basuke) is a high-octane sports manga series written and illustrated by Tadatoshi Fujimaki. Serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump from 2008 to 2014, it became a massive hit by blending traditional basketball with "superpowered" abilities, effectively becoming the "Battle Shonen" of the sports world.

The story centers on the legendary "Generation of Miracles"—five middle school prodigies so talented they crushed every opponent. However, there was a rumored "Phantom Sixth Man" who assisted them. That player is Tetsuya Kuroko, a tiny, plain-looking boy with a lack of physical presence so extreme that people often fail to notice he’s even standing there. Upon entering Seirin High, Kuroko teams up with the hot-headed, American-returned dunker Taiga Kagami. Together, they vow to defeat all five members of the Generation of Miracles and make Seirin the number one team in Japan.
