Vampire Knight
Vampire Knight (Japanese: ヴァンパイア騎士, Hepburn: Vanpaia Naito) is a cornerstone of the Dark Fantasy, Supernatural Romance, and Shōjo genres. Created by Matsuri Hino and serialized in LaLa magazine from 2004 to 2013, it is world-renowned for its gothic atmosphere, complex bloodline politics, and one of the most famous (and divisive) love triangles in manga history.
The story is set at the prestigious Cross Academy, an elite boarding school that operates on a unique "Day Class" (for humans) and "Night Class" (for vampires) system. The protagonist, Yuki Cross, is a "Guardian" of the school alongside her childhood friend Zero Kiryu. Their job is to keep the peace between the two classes and protect the secret of the vampires. Yuki is caught between her loyalty to the stoic, vampire-hating Zero and her deep admiration for Kaname Kuran, the pureblood leader of the Night Class who saved her life a decade ago.
