Naruto
Naruto (Japanese: ナルト) is a foundational Battle Shonen epic created by Masashi Kishimoto. Serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump from 1999 to 2014, it is one of the "Big Three" anime that defined the 2000s global anime boom, famous for its iconic hand signs, "ninja run," and deep emotional storytelling.
The story follows Naruto Uzumaki, an adolescent ninja who is ostracized by his village because the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox—a monster that once nearly destroyed the village—is sealed inside him. Despite the loneliness and prejudice, Naruto is loud, boisterous, and determined to become the Hokage (the village leader) to earn everyone's respect. Alongside his rivals Sasuke Uchiha and Sakura Haruno, and under the guidance of Kakashi Hatake, Naruto grows from a "number one hyperactive, knucklehead ninja" into a hero of the entire world.
