Little Mushroom
Little Mushroom (Chinese: 小蘑菇, Pinyin: Xiǎo Mógū) is a critically acclaimed Post-Apocalyptic Sci-Fi and Danmei (Boys' Love) novel by Shisishi. It is celebrated for its hauntingly beautiful prose, philosophical depth, and a unique premise that stands out in the "End of the World" genre.
The story is set in a future where Earth’s magnetic field has vanished, leading to catastrophic mutations and the collapse of human civilization. The protagonist is An Zhe, a sentient mushroom who takes on human form after absorbing the genes of a dying human youth. An Zhe enters the last human stronghold, the Northern Base, to find his lost "spore"—his only purpose in life. There, he encounters Lu Feng, the "Arbiter" (or Judge) whose job is to identify and execute any human showing signs of mutation. As the mushroom and the executioner develop a fragile bond, the story explores the thin line between humanity and monstrosity in a dying world.
