My Hero Academia
My Hero Academia (Japanese: 僕のヒーローアカデミア, Hepburn: Boku no Hīrō Akademia) is a global Superhero and Battle Shonen phenomenon created by Kohei Horikoshi. Serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump from 2014 to 2024, it is celebrated for its vibrant art, Western comic book influences, and its emotional exploration of what it truly means to be a "hero" in a society built on superhuman abilities.
The story is set in a world where 80% of the population possesses a unique superpower known as a "Quirk." The protagonist, Izuku Midoriya (nicknamed Deku), is a "Quirkless" boy who still dreams of becoming a hero like his idol, the legendary All Might. After a chance encounter where Deku displays innate heroism, All Might chooses him as his successor, passing on his transferable power: One For All. Deku then enrolls in U.A. High School, the top academy for aspiring heroes, to learn how to master his overwhelming new power while facing a rising tide of villains led by the sinister All For One.
