BLACK CLOVER
Black Clover (Japanese: ブラッククローバー, Hepburn: Burakku Kurōbā) is a high-energy fantasy shonen manga series written and illustrated by Yūki Tabata. Since its debut in Weekly Shōnen Jump in 2015, it has become a modern pillar of the genre, known for its breakneck pacing, emphasis on ensemble teamwork, and its "never give up" underdog spirit.
The story is set in a world where magic is everything—a person's social status and survival are determined by their mana capacity. The plot follows two orphans, Asta and Yuno, who were abandoned at a church on the same day. While Yuno is a prodigy born with immense magical power and the legendary Four-Leaf Clover Grimoire, Asta is a freak of nature: he was born with absolutely no magic in a world where even lighting a candle requires it. To compensate, Asta trains his physical body to superhuman levels. During their Grimoire Acceptance Ceremony, Asta is chosen by a tattered, black Five-Leaf Clover Grimoire, which houses a demon and grants him the power of Anti-Magic. Together, the two rivals set out to the capital to join the Magic Knights, both aiming for the same impossible goal: to become the Wizard King.
