D.Gray-man (Japanese: ディー・グレイマン, Hepburn: Dī Gureiman) is a seminal Dark Fantasy and Gothic Action manga created by Katsura Hoshino. The story is set in an alternate 19th century where the Millennium Earl, a sorcerer and self-proclaimed "Maker of the World," seeks to destroy humanity using Akuma—bio-mechanical weapons created from the souls of the dead and the grief of the living. To stop him, a secret organization called the Black Order employs Exorcists: individuals compatible with Innocence, a holy substance that can destroy Akuma.
